Quantity for the Value: 20 Seeds

Packaging: We work with the best German, Spanish, Dutch and Chilean seed suppliers, which allows us to offer you Bhut Jolokia seeds harvested and packaged in 2024, guaranteeing their freshness and a high percentage of germination.

Growing Time: Bhut Jolokia is a moderate growing plant. Seeds may take 2-3 weeks to germinate under optimal conditions. Plants will begin producing chiles in approximately 100-120 days. Bhut Jolokia chiles reach their deep red color when fully ripe, at which point their heat is at its peak, reaching between 800,000 and 1,041,427 units on the Scoville scale.

Special Features: Bhut Jolokia chiles are long, thin, and 5-8 cm long. They have a slightly wrinkled surface and a color that varies from green to deep red as they mature. This chile is known for its extremely high heat level, making it ideal for those looking for a truly intense culinary experience. In addition to its heat, the Bhut Jolokia has a fruity and smoky flavor that adds complexity to sauces and dishes. These chiles are used sparingly in cooking due to their intense heat, and are perfect for making chutneys, pickles, and infused oils.

Lighting: Prefers full sun for optimal growth and to maximize fruit production. Bhut Jolokia needs at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day to develop properly and produce tasty and extremely spicy fruits.

Watering: Bhut Jolokia chillies require regular watering, making sure the soil is kept evenly moist, but not waterlogged. Maintaining consistent watering is crucial during flowering and fruiting to ensure good fruit quality.

Pests: These chillies can be susceptible to common pests such as aphids, spider mites and caterpillars. Using environmentally friendly products such as potassium soap or neem oil is recommended to keep pests under control. Regular inspection of the plants is helpful in detecting and managing any pest problems in time.

Cold hardiness: Bhut Jolokia are sensitive to cold and grow best in warm climates. It is recommended to sow seeds indoors or in a greenhouse if outside temperatures are below 18°C. Plants should be transplanted outdoors only after the risk of frost has passed.

Substrate: A well-drained substrate rich in organic matter is recommended. A soil with good drainage and high fertility will help the plants develop a strong root system and produce a greater quantity of chili peppers.

Harvest: Bhut Jolokia chiles can be harvested when they reach the desired size and deep red color. Harvest the chiles by cutting them off with pruning shears or a sharp knife, leaving a small piece of stem attached to the fruit. For the most intense flavor and maximum heat, leave the chiles on the plant until they are fully ripe.

Caution: Due to the intense heat level of Bhut Jolokia, it is recommended to handle these chiles with gloves and avoid direct contact with eyes and skin.
