Quantity for the Value: 4 Gr

Packaging: We work with the best German, Spanish, Dutch and Chilean seed suppliers, which allows us to offer you Swiss chard seeds harvested and packaged in 2024, guaranteeing their freshness and a high percentage of germination.

Growing time: Swiss chard is a biennial plant, but is grown as an annual in most gardens. You can begin harvesting the outer leaves as early as 4 to 6 weeks after planting, and it will continue to produce leaves throughout the season.

Special Features: Swiss chard is known for its large green leaves and colorful stems that range from white to bright red, depending on the variety. It is perfect for salads, stir-fries, and as a substitute for spinach in various recipes.

Lighting: Prefers full sun, although it can also grow in partial shade. For tender, large leaves, make sure the plants receive at least 4 to 6 hours of direct sunlight per day.

Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist, but well-drained. Swiss chard needs regular watering to produce tender leaves and prevent them from becoming tough or bitter.

Pests: Swiss chard can be susceptible to pests such as aphids, leaf miners and slugs. The use of environmentally friendly products such as potassium soap and neem oil is recommended to keep pests under control.

Cold hardiness: Swiss chard is cold hardy and can withstand light frosts, making it an excellent choice for spring and fall planting. In milder climates, it can be grown year-round.

Substrate: A well-drained substrate rich in organic matter is recommended. A mixture of compost and potting soil is ideal for growing Swiss chard.

Harvest: Cut off the outer leaves when they reach the desired size, leaving the central leaves to continue growing. This will allow you to enjoy a continuous harvest for several months.

Shipping: All shipments are made through Bluespress. Check out our growing manuals on our website: www.arcademendel.com .
