Cultivation duration: 40 to 50 years.

Flowering: Gymnocalycium Mix cacti begin to flower at around 3 years of age. After flowering, new plants emerge from the outer leaves.

Lighting: They need between 4 and 5 hours of direct light daily. If they do not receive enough sunlight, they tend to elongate and become thinner.

Watering: In humid environments, Gymnocalycium can survive up to 6 months without water. A good indicator of when to water is when they begin to shrivel.

Pests: They are susceptible to scale insects, thrips, red spiders and scales. It is recommended to use environmentally friendly products such as potassium soap and Neem oil.

Cold resistance: Good, although in the far south they may be at risk of frost.

Substrate: A mixture of 3 parts soil (compost, peat or leaf soil), 4 parts gravel (approximately 4 mm thick), 1 part peat and 2 parts lumpy sand is recommended.

Shipping: All shipments are made through Bluespress. Check out our germination manuals on our website: www.arcademendel.com .
