Number of seeds : 50 seeds
Packaging: We work with the best seed suppliers from Germany, Spain, Holland and Chile, which allows us to offer you Lithops Karasmontana seeds collected and packaged in 2024, guaranteeing their freshness and a high percentage of germination.
Growing time: Lithops Karasmontana is a slow-growing plant. Seeds usually germinate within 2 to 4 weeks under optimal conditions. As they grow, the plants develop their characteristic forked and flat shape, with colours and patterns varying from grey and brown to reddish tones, allowing them to blend in perfectly among stones.
Special Features: Lithops Karasmontana is especially appreciated for its ability to blend in with its rocky surroundings, giving it its common name of "living rock." As the plant matures, it may produce white or yellow flowers that emerge between the two fleshy leaves. These flowers usually appear in the fall and are a beautiful contrast to the rest of the plant.
Lighting: Lithops Karasmontana prefers plenty of light, ideally full sun, to maintain its coloration and compact shape. However, it is important to avoid exposure to direct sunlight during the hottest hours of the day to prevent sunburn.
Watering: Like all succulents, Lithops Karasmontana requires minimal watering. It is crucial to allow the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, especially during the winter when the plant enters a dormant period. Overwatering can be detrimental and lead to rotting of the plant.
Pests: Lithops Karasmontana is generally resistant to pests, although it can be vulnerable to scale insects if not kept in optimal conditions. Using organic treatments, such as potassium soap, can help control any pest problems.
Cold hardiness: This Lithops is sensitive to low temperatures and should be protected from frost. It is recommended to grow it indoors or in a greenhouse during the winter in cold climates to ensure its survival.
Substrate: A well-drained substrate, specific for succulents and cacti, with a high sand or gravel content is recommended to imitate natural conditions and prevent waterlogging.
Harvest: Lithops Karasmontana is grown primarily for its ornamental value and unique ability to mimic stones. It is a perfect plant to display in succulent collections, rock gardens or as a decorative piece in small pots.
Shipping: All shipments are made through Bluespress. Check out our growing manuals on our website: www.arcademendel.com .
