Quantity for the Value: 25 Seeds

Packaging: We work with the best German, Spanish, Dutch and Chilean seed suppliers, which allows us to offer you Dahlia seeds collected and packaged in 2024, guaranteeing their freshness and a high percentage of germination.

Growing time: Dahlias are profuse blooming plants from summer to fall. Plants begin to bloom approximately 10 to 12 weeks after sowing, depending on growing conditions.

Special Features: Dahlias are known for their variety of flower forms, which can range from simple daisy-shaped blooms to rounded pom-poms and intricate cactus flowers. Dahlias' colors are equally varied, including shades of red, pink, purple, yellow, white and orange. Dahlias are especially popular in cut flower gardens because of the longevity of their blooms and their ability to fill spaces with color and texture.

Lighting: Prefers full sun for optimal growth and abundant flowering. Make sure plants receive at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day.

Watering: Dahlias require regular watering to keep the soil evenly moist, but well drained. It is important to avoid waterlogging to prevent root rot and fungal diseases.

Pests: Dahlias can be susceptible to pests such as spider mites, aphids and snails. Using environmentally friendly products such as potassium soap and neem oil is recommended to keep pests under control.

Cold hardiness: Dahlias are sensitive to cold and do not tolerate frost well. In climates with cold winters, it is recommended to lift and store Dahlia tubers in a cool, dry place during the winter, to replant them in the spring.

Substrate: A well-drained, organic-rich substrate is recommended. Dahlias prefer slightly acidic to neutral soils and respond well to fertile, well-aerated soil.

Harvesting: Dahlia flowers are ideal for cutting and use in floral arrangements. Cut the flowers when they are fully open to enjoy maximum beauty and longevity in the vase. To prolong blooming, cut off spent flowers regularly.

Shipping: All shipments are made through Bluespress. Check out our growing manuals on our website: www.arcademendel.com .
