Quantity for the Value: 20 Seeds

Packaging: We work with the best seed suppliers from Germany, Spain, Holland and Chile, which allows us to offer you Pachypodium lamerei seeds collected and packaged in 2024, ensuring their freshness and a high percentage of germination.

Growing Duration: Pachypodium lamerei is a moderately fast growing plant under favourable conditions. Seeds usually germinate within 2 to 4 weeks. As it grows, the plant develops a thick, thorny trunk that can reach several metres in height over time, topped by a set of long, narrow leaves reminiscent of palm trees.

Special Features: Pachypodium lamerei is known for its silvery, thorn-covered trunk, which gives it a robust and exotic appearance. In the wild, it can grow up to 6 meters tall, although in cultivation it tends to remain more compact. This plant produces white or yellow flowers at the top of its trunk in optimal conditions, although its main attraction lies in its unique and resistant structure.

Lighting: Pachypodium lamerei prefers full sun to develop properly, although it can also adapt to partial shade. Good sun exposure is key to maintaining the health of the plant and promoting its growth.

Watering: Although it tolerates periods of drought, Pachypodium lamerei needs regular watering during the growing season. It is important to allow the substrate to dry out between waterings to avoid root rot problems. In winter, watering should be significantly reduced as the plant enters a dormant period.

Pests: Pachypodium lamerei is generally resistant to pests, although it can be affected by scale insects or mites under unfavourable growing conditions. The use of organic products, such as potassium soap, can be effective in keeping pests under control.

Cold hardiness: Although Pachypodium lamerei is quite hardy, it does not tolerate frost well. It is advisable to protect it from temperatures below 10°C, especially in colder climates, where indoor or greenhouse cultivation should be considered.

Substrate: A well-drained substrate is recommended, ideally a cactus mix that includes coarse sand or gravel. Good drainage is essential to prevent waterlogging and maintain plant health.

Harvest: Pachypodium lamerei is grown primarily for its ornamental value. With its imposing thorny trunk and crown of leaves, this plant is an excellent choice for adding an exotic touch to any garden or plant collection. Although the flowers are a nice addition, the main appeal of this plant lies in its unique structure and hardiness.
