Description

Introduction: At Arcade Mendel , we offer a unique selection of plants that stand out for their beauty and resistance. Physalis , also known as "capsicum", "capeflower" or "goldenberry", is a plant that produces small, round fruits, wrapped in a shell similar to a lantern. These fruits are valued both for their sweet and slightly acidic taste and for their nutritional benefits. It is ideal for those who want to grow exotic and healthy fruits in their own garden.

Quantity for the Value: 20 Seeds

Packaging: We work with the best German, Spanish, Dutch and Chilean seed suppliers, which allows us to offer you Physalis seeds harvested and packaged in 2024, guaranteeing their freshness and a high percentage of germination.

Crop duration: Physalis is a perennial in warm climates, but is grown as an annual in temperate climates. Fruits can be harvested approximately 70 to 90 days after sowing.

Flowering and Fruiting: Physalis flowers are small and yellow with dark spots in the center. After flowering, the fruits develop, which mature inside a papery shell that turns brown as the fruit ripens.

Lighting: Physalis prefers full sun, although it can tolerate partial shade. For a good harvest, make sure it receives at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day.

Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist, but avoid waterlogging. Physalis prefers well-drained, moderately moist soil, especially during fruiting.

Pests: Physalis can be susceptible to pests such as aphids, spider mites and fruit worms. The use of environmentally friendly products such as potassium soap and neem oil is recommended to keep pests under control.

Cold hardiness: Although Physalis is relatively hardy, it does not tolerate frost well. In colder climates, it is recommended to grow this plant indoors or in a greenhouse to protect it from low temperatures.

Substrate: A substrate rich in organic matter, with good drainage, is recommended. A mixture of potting soil with compost and sand is ideal for this plant.

Shipping: All shipments are made through Bluespress. Check out our germination and cultivation manuals on our website: www.arcademendel.com .
