Quantity for the Value: 2 Gr
Packaging: We work with the best German, Spanish, Dutch and Chilean seed suppliers, which allows us to offer you carrot seeds harvested and packaged in 2024, guaranteeing their freshness and a high percentage of germination.
Crop duration: Carrots are a biennial plant, usually grown as an annual. The roots are ready to harvest approximately 70 to 80 days after sowing, depending on the variety and growing conditions.
Special Features: Carrots produce long, crunchy roots that are bright orange, although there are also varieties in purple, red, yellow and white. They are ideal for fresh consumption, in salads, juices, soups and stews.
Lighting: They prefer full sun for optimal root development. Make sure the plants receive at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day.
Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist, but well-drained. Regular watering is essential during root development to ensure that the roots grow straight and tender. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely, as this can cause the roots to become fibrous.
Pests: Carrots can be susceptible to pests such as carrot fly, root maggots and aphids. Using environmentally friendly products such as potassium soap and neem oil is recommended to keep pests under control.
Cold Hardiness: Carrots are fairly cold hardy and can withstand light frosts, making them ideal for early spring or fall planting in temperate climates.
Substrate: A well-drained, loose and deep substrate, rich in organic matter, is recommended to facilitate root development. A soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH is ideal for this plant.
Harvest: Carrots are ready to harvest when they reach the desired size, usually about 1.5 to 2.5 cm in diameter. For sweeter carrots, you can wait to harvest them after the first frost, as the cold intensifies their flavor.
Shipping: All shipments are made through Bluespress. Check out our growing manuals on our website: www.arcademendel.com .
